As laid out in the previous update (which can be read here), we are engaged in a three phase improvement project for Downtown Visalia. We have good news! We are in the home stretch, light at the end of the tunnel, regarding the water main infrastructure work!
California Water Service will be completing work in the area of Main St. and Encina. Work will begin the night of July 25th and should take about five days to complete. Because of the work taking place, the south lane of Main St. will be closed to traffic. This will impact traffic flow and parking in the area. If possible, we advise an alternate route should be taken.
Following the Calif. Water phase, the City of Visalia will follow with construction activity, which again will impact the area. This work is anticipated to last a week as well. We are hopeful by the end of July or mid-August the water main project will be completed, and we can then move to prep work for the lighting project.
Always check this blog for updates regarding phases of construction and how it can impact traffic and pedestrian flow along Main St.
